This allows you to access terminology from a single source to streamline how your applications interact with terminology.

Third party terminologies and code systems
We provide access to LOINC, RCPA resources and other code systems, as well as SNOMED CT-AU, to support digital health and clinical data sharing.
LOINC: a test request and result terminology
LOINC is an international standard for identifying health measurements, observations and documents. It’s relevant for reference labs, healthcare providers, insurance companies, software and device manufacturers and researchers.

RCPA SPIA: a pathology terminology and information model
The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) Standardised Pathology Informatics in Australia (SPIA) terminology reference set and information model resources were developed to standardise and improve the recording, decision support, communication and analysis of pathology in Australia.

Other national code systems
We provide access to over 50 code systems that may be used in clinical software to support administrative sections of medical records such as occupations, the Australian Immunisation Register and valid reasons for null values.
You can access these code systems, which support FHIR in an Australian context, through our National Terminology Server.
