Third party reference setList of Medicines for Brand Consideration reference set

Developed for the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care to support the Active Ingredient Prescribing initiative, this reference set has been updated for tighter alignment with the published lists. Please refer to the Department of Health and Aged Care website – Active ingredient prescribing.

Future changes

SNOMED CT‑AUEDRSWith the release of the new Australian emergency department reference set as of January 2019, there are plans to deprecate the original Emergency Department Reference (EDRS) set in a forthcoming release. Current users of the EDRS will be consulted prior to confirming the deprecation date.
AMTIHINThe TGA has provided notification that dual labelled medicines will begin transition to sole medicine ingredient names from 1 May 2023. Maintenance of AMT substances that have been identified as a part of this first round of transition, and the descriptions for concepts that reference these substances, will be updated over a number of NCTS releases commencing with the NCTS May 2023 release. A second round of transition is expected in 2025. Please refer to the notification on the TGA website – Dual labelled medicine ingredient names start the transition to sole names on 30 April 2023 .
